Interactive discovery: the future of research
Collective exploration
Getting things wrong or not knowing what to do or think are common experiences. How can group interactions help with exploration of novel options, or new ways of shaping questions? Are more diverse groups better at solving problems, but also raise better problems? Our research reconsiders classical debates mostly held about individuals to understand how exploration and questioning or curiosity can be shared at group level.
Reshaping participation into research
Together with actors from the charitable, public and industrial sector, we are pioneering new approaches to the sharing of scientific findings and most importantly methods and questions. We run leading projects in science communication, participatory research and art-science aiming at crossing geographical, cultural, generational, and educational borders.
The future of research and higher-education
Higher-education and research are challenged to evolve to fast-changing conditions, including because of the flourishing of distant learning methods, need for transferable skills, and generative technologies. At MI3, we work to inform policy and decision-making, notably at the European level, to transform the research and high-ed sector around principles of interactivity and inclusion.
